The Vickers are from Florence, and have taken a turn towards different sonorities, where acoustic Barrettsyan melodies intertwine with fuzz and delays, creating tripped out timeless psychedelia that’s innovative in the way it’s inspired by the past.
Senseless Life is finding yourself floating in a strange room where a kaleidoscopic light shines in a corner, brighter and bigger every second. As you move towards it, a magnetic attraction pulls you towards it, suddenly you’re so close that you can no longer see shapes, just light. You close your eyes but when you open them again you find yourself lying under a tree with the sun shining in your eyes through the leaves. You get up to and try to figure out where you are with no success. You notice an ancient ruin in the distance and next to it a floating black dot, as you walk towards it it gets bigger, until you’re finally just a couple of steps away from it. As you try to take a better look, you are swept from your feet and back into the darkness, where you see a light in the corner.
