Ladada is Virginia Beach native and former We Are Trees, MAE, Jake Clemons touring member Joshia Schalter’s musical project, in which he sets a beautiful, sun-stained relaxed mood that evokes the best parts of a summer’s day out. His debut EP, Ladada will be out later this summer on Oakland based label Gold Robot Records, and judging by the first cut, we can expect an aural slow-motion explosion of sunshine.

Comets is like finding yourself in the deepest depths of deep space, motionless and in an engulfing darkness.  Suddenly a distant flash of light starts coming closer and closer, until it brushes against you and pick you up in its trajectory. Together you travel across purple galaxies dominated by rotating green suns, prismoidal planets and shining starts. As your trajectory changes towards a a more familiar place you see what seems to be a planet you once lived on, with a yellow, shining satellite. You understand you’ve reached home and part ways with the friendly comet, who promises to be back to pick you up whenever you need to.
