Psychomagic are from Portland and their blend of psych combines bubblegum pop with beautiful garage surf overtones worthy of any Pebbles but without any of the nostalgia that often bears a shadow over bands that tend to inspire to much. Formed by Steven Fusco, some of his first songs had to stand the self-inflicted task of having to withstand the patience of kids. In other words the brutality and honesty in the appreciation/ lack there of in his music would serve as a guideline to where his music was going.
I Just Wanna Go Home With You is being in a dark outdoor club by the beach, hanging out with your friends rolling a doobie while you laugh and sip your beer. As you look at the moon you feel a loneliness tingling inside, but when you look back down a figure is dancing and staring at you. You can’t believe what’s in front of your eyes, and as the smoke around you rises the figure comes closer, takes a puff from you and takes your hand into the belly of the beast. As you dance together the crowd around you lets go more and more to each bar of the infectious Island Beat that’s blasting in your chests, until you close your eyes and together you levitate into the moonlight, going home to where each of you is a whole.
